Pioneer Valley Yacht Club
Our hidden gem on the beautiful Connecticut River

Sailing regattas are a part of a longstanding tradition at the PVYC.

Season 2016 was challenging as long time members moved away or could not participate,
and rain and river levels dampened spirits. However, a deep passion for sailing and racing
continues within the club.

Our revered Sailing Committee Chair, John Dalsey, moved up to Commodore in 2017.
Congratulations, John!

Vana Nespor and Al Whitehouse stepped in as co-chairs and the committee accepted
Dalsey’s challenge to rebuild the love, passion, and participation for sailing among PVYC
members.

We have many ideas but are seeking membership input (and help) to create the most
exciting and enticing sailing and racing experience for all of us who love to be on the water
in the 2017 Season.

We will continue to hold our racing regatta’s with the social calendar to delight our
membership and increase participation!

NOTE: Skippers’ meeting 1 hour before race start.

Thinking of buying a sailboat to use at the PVYC?

Talk to a PVYC sailor first!  The river at the PVYC is too shallow for fixed keel
sailboats.    Shoal keel and centerboard sailboats do best.
